At its base, the 2025 Chevrolet Malibu starts as a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder sedan with front-wheel drive, delivering up to 163 horsepower. The Malibu now pairs this engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for enhanced fuel efficiency and smoother driving. The 2.0-liter engine option is no longer available as Chevrolet focuses on improving overall efficiency. The Malibu also includes an automatic engine start/stop system for better efficiency in stop-and-go traffic.

Safety

Stay safe with ten airbags installed throughout the vehicle for advanced protection, including front, side, head, and knee airbags. A Passenger Sensing System is also included, enabling selective airbag activation.
